However, they have every right to go through down moments, to express what concerns them. They are all grateful for being in a privileged position and work hard to improve and do what they love for as long as possible. Top athletes do not complain about being an athlete. ![]() We should try not to confuse things though. “Getting paid for playing basketball, with so much money in their bank accounts, they should not complain.” This is in some way a fair reaction from someone that considers is in a much worse situation, or that compare the comfortable life players live with that of other people that go through lot more difficulties in many fronts. Same as everyone else.īut when any given player raises his/her voice to express feelings, they often are not understood by many. ![]() They feel the pain, they go through tough mental situations. They go through good and bad, happy and sad moments. We often forget that above and beyond all, they remain to be human beings. ![]() Top professional players are not allowed to have any feelings. ![]() How could they not be happy? With all that money, with all that popularity. They are superheroes, people that continuously live a life full of luxury, that are successful and permanently happy. This is probably the result of always presenting them as superstars, untouchable, and unreachable for the common people. Players’ life is often looked in a superficial way, which in many cases leads to a distorted view of their reality. A non-filtered view on what being a top professional athlete is like and the consequences of having to move abroad to continue with your career. ![]()
